LA CROSSE, WI; DECORAH, IA; ROCHESTER, MN; MANKATO, MN – December 2010 – The Gillette Pepsi-Cola Companies announced today the organizations awarded third wave Local Pepsi Refresh Project Grants.

The final $10,000 has been awarded to grant winners from wave one or wave two of the Local Pepsi Refresh Project. The applicants for this round made their case for why their organization should be awarded additional funding and these seven organizations stood out as providing a valuable service to their local communities.

La Crosse division: DeSoto School District (Prairie View Elementary School) received $2,395 to purchase a Titmus V3 General vision screening machine for the school district. This screener will allow district staff to identify students with vision loss, near sightedness, color blindness and eye muscle imbalances.

Decorah division: Toys Go 'Round Toy Lending Library received $305 to purchase additional educational toys and learning materials for the lending library.

Rochester division: Boys and Girls Club of Rochester received $669 to purchase a computer and monitor for the upgraded digital media lab. The Boys and Girls Club of Rochester strives to bridge the digital divide by providing low income and underprivileged kids access to current technology to help them succeed academically.

Rochester division: Chatfield Fire Department received $2,740 to purchase a confined space cutter which allows emergency responders to rescue victims from tight spaces, such as under the dash of a car that has been crushed. This new tool will help the Chatfield Fire Department achieve their goal of returning all victims and rescuers home to their families.

Mankato division: Saint James Fire Department Relief Association received $1,432 to fund one set of turnout gear - the suits firefighters wear. Nineteen sets are outdated and in desperate need of replacement and we are happy to help them with their efforts to better protect their firefighters.
